Shave Your Lid for a Kid® is Kids Cancer Care's largest fundraising initiative, raising more than $5.5 million since its inception in 1998. Our shave program is successful because of people like you who shave, pledge a shavee and show moral support. This bold move of shaving one’s head shows moral support for the kids who lose their hair during cancer treatments, while raising money for camp, research, hospital and scholarship programs for young people affected by cancer.
The Shave your Lid for a Kid® Blog has been created so that the amazing stories our foundation hears every day, can be shared with everyone. This blog will show support for those shaving their heads for cancer, celebrate the success of the Shave a Lid for a Kid Program and show to the world that KIDS CAN beat this and we are here to support them in their fight.
With every Shave comes a compelling personal story that motivates and inspires. Through this blog you will meet a 7 year old girl who cut her pony tail off, 5 kids from Innisfail who rose over $10,000 and a beautiful young woman organizing an event where hair meets art and dance!
